Is it possible to duplicate a theme?

I have created a popup theme that works well for our site. Now that I have the general appearance locked in I'd like to make some color variations. It would be great if I could just duplicate the themes and tweak the colors but that doesn't seem like an option. Am I missing something?

Hi Daniel!

Yes, it's possible to duplicate a popup theme. You can install any post duplicator plugin (like this) and you should see another option to copy a theme when you hover over it. See here: https://share.zight.com/eDubOZmL

Hope that helps!

Hey Daniel Milani ,

With a duplicator plugin like @kimleong mentions, you can also clone popups, posts, and pages. That's how a dupe my popups to get up and running fast.

If you already have a duplicator plugin, check its settings. You might need to allow it to clone popup and popup theme post types.

Enjoy 😌

Thanks for the help! We actually had a duplicator plugin installed but I didn't realize we needed to activate specific elements to be eligible for duplication. (I inherited the site from someone else.)

Daniel Milani I wanted to chime in and add that over the course of this year I'm actually planning to get rid of the separate theme designer, and move it all into the popup editor directly:

  • themes will still exist in the database separately.
  • you will be able to choose themes, and edit them as if they were part of the popup settings directly, but reusable between popups.
  • you will be able to 1 click clone one.
  • you will be able to set a popup's theme, then customize/override settings on a per popup basis.

Sounds great! Controls all in one place will be much more intuitive and efficient for my workflow.
