Settings / status revert
Is there a known 'bug' or conflict with another plugin that would cause settings to revert inside Popup Maker? This has happened multiple times over the course of several years. The 'Enabled' toggle will revert to 'enabled' for all popups in the list. Additionally, the Settings (triggers, targeting, etc.) all revert to defaults.
Currently on WP 6.8.1 with Popup Maker v1.20.
I can't say it is from updates to the plugin, or really any sort of pattern, because it's usually days-to-weeks before we remember to check it or realize the popup scripts are (incorrectly) running site-wide.
I do know it's a repeated issue and very time-consuming to go track down all the proper targeting settings to redo the work.
Any other reports of this or advice on what may be the cause?
Thanks.
We are aware of this occurring, but nothing has been pinpointed and it seem to occur randomly, which is not ideal for tracking down an issue to resolve it. Ideally we need to be able to replicate it reliably, so we can verify the fix resolves it 100%, or at all.
Strange that all go enabled, that actually might be helpful. Ill bundle the plugin code and pass it into ChatGPT tonight, maybe it can spot something we've missed.
Clearly there is an issue, but we haven't found the trigger yet.
Daniel Iserย Thanks for the reply. Yes, confirming all of them were set to the 'enabled' status.
On a different site and previous incident from at least a year ago, they all were set to enabled PLUS the included default sample pop-up was restored and enabled.
The default one did not re-appear in this most recent occurrence, thankfully, as it immediately becomes active & visible site-wide.
Jason Twiteย Ok we have a patch we are gonna try pushing likely, though since we can't reliably replicate the issue, it is a bit of a best guess and closing any potential gaps this could occur in.
