Split Testing: Compare popup content, settings, complete popups, and holdout groups using conversion goals and Bayesian results—then confidently send more traffic to the experience most likely to perform best. Learn how to split test a popup →
New Targeting Conditions:
Content Publish Date, Modified Date & Age – Target popups based on when content was published or last modified. Conditions are automatically generated for every registered post type and support before/after/on/between operators with inclusive boundary control. Content Age supports older-than, newer-than, and between-age with days, weeks, and months units.
HTML Element Is Visible – Target popups when a selected element is visible or hidden on the page.
MCP integration for AI assistants — Connect Popup Maker to AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Desktop, or any MCP-compatible client) and manage your site through natural conversation instead of clicking through every editor screen. Requires WordPress 6.9+, the MCP Adapter plugin, and a user account with permission to edit popups.
What you can do:
Build and edit popups — Create new popups, update content (including Gutenberg blocks), change triggers, targeting conditions, cookies, themes, and publish status.
Manage popup themes — List, create, update, duplicate, or delete themes; adjust colors, overlay, container, and close-button styling.
Target the right visitors — Look up valid condition and trigger IDs (including e-commerce rules when EDD/WooCommerce integrations are active) and apply them without guessing field names.
Manage calls to action — Create, list, read, update, and delete CTAs; discover registered action types and field schemas; read the live CTAs resource.
Review performance — Pull open, conversion, and revenue stats; run conversion analysis to see what is working.
Get guided help — Load per-entity agent primers via
get-documentation(entity: popup, theme, cta, orallfor the index; optionalsectionfor one topic). Primers ship frommcp/primers/; add-ons can register more viapopup_maker_pro_mcp_primer_paths. Use prompts for status checks or optimization suggestions.

Pro+ add-ons can register additional abilities on
popup_maker_pro_mcp_primer_paths.New Campaigns (UTM) analytics report – See which campaigns actually drive popup conversions and revenue. Breaks performance down by every UTM dimension (source, medium, campaign, term, content) with click-to-drill segmenting, top source/medium/campaign combinations, and a campaign × landing-page matrix. Sessions now capture UTM attribution and device type automatically, with backfill for historical data.
Improvements
- WP Admin analytics dashboard: Replaced the free summary widget with a compact live Pro dashboard showing popup opens, conversions, conversion rate, attributed revenue, previous-period comparisons, top-performing popups, and quick results for active or recently completed split tests. Date-range preferences are saved per WordPress user, and report-only roles can access the dashboard and Analytics page without popup-editing permissions.
- URL Performance report: URL search with contains/exact/wildcard modes, group-by-path view, pagination, trend sparklines, and click-through to a popup + URL filtered view.
- Universal analytics filters: New Filters panel applies page URL, UTM, and device segments consistently across every analytics report.
- Popup Editor: Replaced the cramped Analytics metabox with the React Analytics sidebar (toolbar icon). The free plugin’s duplicate Analytics metabox is hidden when Pro is active.
- Cookie Scanner Cleanup: Pro no longer writes per-visitor uniquely-named cookies. Session data moved to browser localStorage; only
__pum(visitor UUID) remains. Existing visitors migrate transparently.
Fixes
- Exit intent: corrected link click default, mobile scroll label, back-button listener leak, lost-focus timing, and external link selectors.
- Scroll triggers use root
remsizing, recalculate%/vhdistance on resize, and bind passive rAF-throttled scroll listeners. - Has Viewed Selected Pages now tracks pages and custom post types, not only blog posts.
Privacy
- GDPR personal-data cleanup for analytics – Honoring a verified personal-data erasure request now severs the user link across Pro’s analytics and split-test tables (events, sessions, split-test assignments) in addition to deleting the stored visitor UUID. Aggregate metrics stay intact; rows previously tied to the user become unattributable.
